Every year around this time, we experience what’s known as the “February melt” – the weather suddenly warms up, all the piles of snow disappear & everyone starts walking around without jackets. After living in New York for 8 years, I’ve learned that you have to take full advantage of this phenomenon while it lasts…because, before long, the temperatures will plunge back down & the snowfall will return.
I have been anxious to wear this skirt since it arrived, so I was thrilled to be able to bare at least a small sliver of my legs without freezing! The color & tiny dotted print make this style practically seasonless – I’ll swap out the boots for heeled sandals once the weather gets warmer & I can also see myself wearing it in the fall with a cable knit sweater & leather belt. Here are some more ideas for ways to style it for the coming season:
- with this striped tee, this denim jacket & these sneakers
- with this black blouse (knotted at the waist), these metallic sandals & this straw bag
- with this buttoned top, these espadrille wedges & this woven hat
- with this bikini top, these high-waisted bottoms & these slide sandals
This week only, Target is offering $10 off when you spend $40 on clothing, shoes & accessories (no code needed). This is good for the whole family, so you can grab pieces for men & kids too! They have so many great new arrivals for spring like these espadrille sandals, this floral midi dress & this classic trench. The sale even includes jewelry like these resin hoops & these geometric earrings – I’d also layer this dainty necklace with this coin pendant (these necklace extenders are one of my must-haves). See more of my top picks from their site below!
What I’m wearing:
Dorothy Perkins Jacket (similar here, here or here), DKNY Bodysuit,
c/o Who What Wear Skirt, Steve Madden Booties (more colors here),
Necklaces: Gorjana & Meghan Bo (similar)
