DVD Afternoon Podcast #18: The Emperor Has No Closure

Hi, podcast fans. Not only does this week's episode of DVD Afternoon feature scintillating reviews of Alexander Sokurov's ultra-serious The Sun and Derrick Comedy's ultra-silly Mystery Team, not to mention discussions of Apichatpong Weerasethakul's victory at Cannes and the many ways David Attenborogh is superior to Oprah Winfrey, but I think I've ironed out a bunch of the sound problems that plagued the last couple of shows — our voices are a little less flat and echoey, I think, and the theme song fades down a little more elegantly too. (I've been using a shareware program called Audacity to produce the show, and it took me forever to figure out a way to get a track not to fade out to silence, but to simply fade down to a lower volume. Well, this week, I came up with a workaround that is either brilliant or needlessly complicated, but either way, I've nearly mastered the opening of the show... and it only took me 18 weeks to do it!)

Anyhow, enough of my yammering... you get enough of that on the podcast itself. Seriously, though, I think this is one of the more enjoyable podcasts Heather Noel and I have put together so far, and I hope you agree. You can subscribe to the show through iTunes or listen to Episode #18 directly by clicking here. And as always, you can send feedback to the show by emailing dvdafternoon [at] gmail.com.
